Frequently Asked Questions

Church Cleaning — the questions we get asked.

Our services and hall bookings change week to week — can cleaning follow an irregular calendar?

Yes. Rather than a fixed weekly slot, churches across the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs give us the week's booking sheet and we clean around funerals, weddings and community group bookings as they land, with the sanctuary always reset before the next scheduled service.

Do you clean the parish hall and kitchen the same way as the sanctuary, or is that a different scope?

It is written as a separate line in the scope document, because a hall used for playgroups, community meals or a Saturday market needs a different cleaning standard and frequency to a sanctuary that is used once or twice a week. Kitchens used for shared meals get the same food-safety-conscious approach we apply to any commercial kitchen area.

We currently rely on a volunteer roster — what changes if we move to a paid contract?

Volunteer cleaning usually works until attendance dips or a big event lands the same week as the roster gap. A contract does not replace volunteers who want to keep contributing — it sits underneath them as the guaranteed baseline, so the building is presentable even in a week the roster falls through.

How do you handle stained glass, timber pews and other heritage fixtures without damaging them?

These are treated as a distinct part of the scope with methods matched to the material — soft-bristle and pH-neutral approaches for stained glass, appropriate polish for timber pews and altars — rather than the same all-purpose product used on tile floors and restrooms.

Can you do a one-off clean-up after a wedding or funeral rather than a standing contract?

Yes, one-off event clean-ups are available without committing to an ongoing arrangement. Many churches in Strathfield and North Sydney start this way and move to a standing contract once they see how the reset works around their calendar.

What would a cleaning arrangement for our church cost?

It depends on the size of the sanctuary and hall, how many services and bookings run each week, and whether kitchen and bathroom areas are included. Call 02 9139 8401 or visit /contact and we will quote it against your actual weekly schedule rather than a generic rate.
